この製品は、アメリカンビンテージスタイルの要素を随所に再現しつつも、バーンズならではの生産背景で作り出される小寸編みによる丸胴ヘビーウェイト天竺、現代的なシルエットを取り入れ、街着として着易い洗練されたスタイリッシュでファッショナブルなデザインに仕上げられています。

形は、セットインスリーブのプルオーバー仕様のロックステッチ仕上げヘンリーネックTシャツです。

素材はコットン100%のヘビーウエイト天竺です。ゴツゴツとした糸本来の風合い(織りムラ感・スラブ感)が残った、しっかりとした肉厚感のある柔らかい生地です。味わい深い表情に加え、着心地の良いしなやかさと、長年の洗濯や着用にも耐えるしっかりさを併せ持った生地です。着用を繰り返すことで、生地が馴染みさ、らにコットン特有の風合いが生まれてきます。

このTシャツは、「COZUN」によって編まれた生地が使用されています。「COZUN」とは大正時代に現存した「吊り編み機」という旧式編み機を改造した「小寸編み機」の事です。生産効率は低いのですが、低速でゆっくりと編み立られ、余分なテンションがかからずに、糸そのものの柔らかい風合いを生かすことができる世界に数台しか存在しない希少な編み機です。低速で編まれた生地は、温もりのある味わい深い表情に加え、しっかりとした着心地としなやかな柔らかさを兼ね備えています。そして、小寸編み機で編まれたTシャツの最大の特徴が、ボディの脇部に縫い目がない、いわゆる「丸胴」に仕上がる仕様です。現在は量産を重視した高速の編み機が主流になり、小寸編み機は時代遅れの技術とされつつあります。しかし、小寸編み機で編まれたTシャツには、最新の量産重視の高速編み機では出せない独特の風合いと時代を超えうるタフネスが宿っています。あえて手間と時間を要して生産効率の低い小寸編み機で編むことで、空気を含んで柔らかくも、コシのある強い丸胴生地に編み上がります。また、はぎ目のない服なので、洋服の縫い目が肌に当たらず着心地も良い利点もあります。

また、この製品には、ワンウォッシュ加工がかけられています。そのため、Tシャツには、程よいオールド感とヴィンテージ感が生まれ、クラシックな印象を与えるTシャツに仕上げられています。また、ワンウォッシュですでに生地の縮みが発生しているので、洗濯後の縮みが少なくサイズ感が安定しているのも利点のひとつです。

ネックリブ(襟周り)は着用を繰り返しても伸びにくい特徴を持つ、耐久性に優れたバインダーネック仕様です。

ネックプラケットは3つボタンのヘンリーネックです。ヘンリーネックは端をロックミシンでステッチされた王道的なデザインです。

そして、小寸編みの厚手生地は一枚一枚、四本針フラットシーマで縫製され、Tシャツに仕上げられています。フラットシーマーはステッチをかけたときに生地の裏側の縫い代部分の膨らみがなく、肌にあたった時のストレスも少ないフラット(平ら)な仕上がりで、着心地の良さが高まります。また、Tシャツ表面の四本針アウトロックステッチワークは、ビンテージデザインのアクセントにもなっています。

This plain solid color loopwheeled construction button henley t-shirt is made in Japan and produced by Barns Outfitters. Body pattern is a vintage-style loopwheeled tee shirt. And this T shirt has been made on heavyweight jersey knit fabricated on vintage loop-wheel looms. And this shirt is cut to Modern Fit with short in the body length for a more fashion-forward looks than Classic Fit. This T-Shirt is new original creations by Barns Outfitters.

Material : 100% cotton slub jersey knit. Heavy-weight cotton fabricated on vintage loop-wheel looms. It combines durability and the natural softness for comfort.

Fabric : Heavyweight jersey knit with a slubbed texture. Slub yarn is a yarn containing varying thicknesses. The fabric of this T-shirt is knitted in slab yarn. This results in a unique fabric with a nice irregular and uneven texture to T-shirt. And This T-Shirt has a nice weight, not thin. Textured slub fabrication provides a more modern look. And the T-shirt is one washed for the fashionable vintage feel and look, and to ensure consistent sizing, thus these are the final size fitting and it is ready-to-wear. This T-shirt is made of a heavyweight cotton jersey knit fabric but also has the natural softness for comfort to wear. And the fabric will also develop a comfortable feeling and continue to get softer and cozier through repeated wear.

Body : Tubular construction (No side seam construction). Made on vintage loop-wheel looms which knit the fabric in a seamless continuous tube known as loop-wheeling. The fabric is produced with minimal tension during knitting process and lack of seams means the garment will keep its shape through wear and washing. It combines durability and the natural softness for comfort. Vintage looms are special machines that are able to knit a perfect tube, but they can only knit one set diameter (size) per loom, so a loom for each size is required. This is why one hardly ever sees perfect tube construction in modern day garments.

Collar : Ribbed crew neck with bound neck (cover stitch neckband) with double stitching. It used for the neck to prevent overstretching.

Neck type : Henley neck with overlock stitch. A ribbed crew neckline with 3-button placket.

Cuff : Unbanded cuffs for full range of motion.

Hem type : A straight hemline ( Square cut bottom hem ) with overlock stitching.
