M-51パーカーは第二次大戦から発展してきたプルオーバー型のM-48パーカーを進化させたものです。

この製品のシルエットは、オリジナル同様にオーバーコートとしての着用を前提として、かなり大きめに仕上げられています。そのため、普段ご着用のサイズより1サイズから2サイズ下のサイズがおすすめサイズです。

素材は綿100%のヘビーウェイトコットンバックサテンです。高密度に織られたハリとコシのある頑強で肉厚な生地です。生地表面には横線が入った様に見える、ムラ感・スラブ感のある独特の風合いの丈夫な生地で、ミリタリーらしい無骨な表情ながら、しなやかな着心地も併せ持つ生地です。

一重のライトアウター(薄手のコート)なので、軽い羽織りのアウター(コート)として、主に春先から秋口まで年間を通して、幅広く着用できるアイテムです。

フロントには隠しスナップボタン留めフラップポケットが設けられています。

袖口は、密封性を高めるためのラバーストラップアジャスターベルトが内蔵されたボタンタブカフスです。

モッズコートの特徴的なデザインである、後ろの裾が長めになった「フィッシュテール」にはスナップボタンが付き、折って収納できるつくりになっています。

両肩に配されたボタン留めのエポーレット(肩章)、服を密着させ体を動き易くするため内側にに付けられた腰と裾のドローストリング(紐)、凍えた手を温めるためのウールの袋地、袖口開口調節用のゴム入りカフス等、M-51のデザイン性、機能性も再現されています。

This fishtail parka is made in Japan and produced by Buzz Rickson from Toyo Enterprises. Body pattern is the reproduction of the U.S. Army M-51 Fishtail Parka. And this parka is Ultra Loose Fit just as the vintage originals did. This parka is a type of coat intended to be worn as the outermost garment. This is an extremely easy-wearing jacket style with plenty of room for adding layers of clothing. So we recommend sizing down from your normal size. we suggest ordering one or two size smaller than you normally would. For example, if you normally wear a size M, Please select size S or XS. The original M-51 comes with a quilted liner, but the liner is not included in this product.

Outer shell : Fabricated from 100% heavyweight cotton sateen outer. 100% cotton back satin. Heavyweigt one-washed, pre-washed, preshrink, non-stretch, tightly woven cotton back satin with a slubby and rough-hewn texture and rugged appearance and uneven surface from horizontal lines on the face of the fabric. It is high density and extremely durable. It combines the toughness and the natural softness for comfort. This item is dyed and washed for fade and the fashionable vintage feel and look. The more you wear, the more fabric will fade beautifully and continue to get softer and cozier.

Lining shell for body and sleeves : Unlined. And liner is not included in this product. No inside padding. Suitable for spring and fall seasons.

Types of garment closure (Placket type) : Zipper closure. Front Fastener : Crown Aluminum Spring Automatic Lock. Crown zipper with all-cotton zipper tape. The zipper is covered with a storm flap that fastens with snap buttons across the zipper. This design protects the wind from slipping through the front.

Storage : The jacket has two large exterior pockets with flap closures secured by snap buttons. Pockets are lined with wool pocket bags. The wool-lined pockets helped thwart the numbing effect on hands from the extreme cold.

Cuff type : Elasticated adjustable button tab cuffs.

Hood style : The hood lined with 100% cotton thin, lightweigt, density and tightness weave broadcloth fabric. Fixed hood with adjustable draw cord that forms part of the outer shell. Leather tabs on drawstring on hood. A drawstring (drawcord) passes through the hood, allowing the aperture size to be adjusted.

The M-51 Fishtail Parka was first used by the United States Army in 1951 to help protect soldiers from the elements in the Korean War. Parka has a removable nylon quilted button-in liner to keep you warm.

M-51 is the updated version of pullover parka, the M-48, from WW2 era and it was mainly issued to U.S.Army officers for the cold weather condition on the Korean War. This battlefield was considered as one of the coldest region U.S.Army has ever fought, and thus the layer system was adapted to be able to wear over ordinary equipment of clothing. The first generation (1951) was given a thick cotton satin shell, but 1952 or later model was replaced by oxford cotton nylon to cut down both cost and weight. Also,this jacket features a rubber strap-adjusting belt for solid sealing performance on the cuffs and wool pockets to ensure heat-retenition.
